A watercolor cat from Sara's gallery. Compare the handling of paper and color with her acrylic portraits.
Choose the painting you want to live with
The right medium is a matter of taste, space and the kind of object you want. Begin with Sara's finished work. Her watercolor portraits and acrylic canvases each have their own character; comparing real examples is more useful than assuming one medium is always better or more realistic.
Think about where the portrait will go. A small original on a desk, a piece in a frame and a canvas for a wall are different choices. Decide whether the picture will focus on one face or include more of the animal and its surroundings.
Watercolor on paper
Sara's tiny and small watercolor options are paintings on paper. The tiny format is 2.5 by 3.5 inches and is listed for one pet; the small format is 4 by 6 inches and allows up to two. Their scale makes them worth considering for a small display or a personal gift.
Check what comes with the individual listing before choosing a frame. A painting on paper and a framed product are different purchases. If the portrait is a gift, think about how the recipient will display it and ask Sara about any presentation details you need.
Acrylic on canvas
The standard acrylic options are a 5 by 7 inch canvas for one pet and an 8 by 10 inch canvas for up to two. Look at the golden retriever and other acrylic examples in the gallery to see Sara's approach to subjects, color and backgrounds. A custom background or a different composition is something to discuss rather than assume.
For a larger painting, a family portrait or an idea that does not match a listing, contact Sara for a quote. Her site explains that larger work depends on size and the number of subjects. A standard product price does not define every possible commission.
Budget and timing belong in the same conversation
The table below uses the same current options as the commission page. Compare size, material and pet limits alongside price. Ask about shipping and any extra requirements before paying; a listed painting price is not a promise of a particular delivery date.
Sara's FAQ gives a few days for small or tiny paintings and a week or longer for acrylics. Those are painting estimates, not delivery guarantees or a live view of her queue. For a birthday, holiday or memorial gift, tell her the date and confirm availability first.
